Paul has a long association with the Dinghy Cruising Association, and has written several books on sailing and cruising. He is also a researcher on Anglo-Saxon and Scandinavian ships and leads a team at the Long Shed, where The Sutton Hoo replica Ship, a large sea going open craft, is being built.
