Outdoor Classroom: Work on an outdoor classroom has begun! An open area within the woodland located a few yards beyond the entrance to the amenity site on the right hand side has been chosen and a pathway has been cleared for easy access. Suffolk Wildlife Trust adviser, Judy Powell, visited Bawdsey on Tuesday 16th August and was very impressed by the location which she said was perfect for a forest school. The immediate area has many different wildlife habitats to hand, providing a variety of species to study. Furthermore the beach and the salt marsh are just across the road and will also provide fruitful areas for study. It is to be hoped that once the visitor centre is completed, the outdoor classroom will be available not only for schoolchildren but for parties of adults and families also.
