Parish Council - Bawdsey Precept

Bawdsey Precept – This is the amount raised through Council Tax for use in the Village. – The Parish Council has reluctantly agreed to raise this Precept from £5,000 to £6,000.  This is a big percentage increase because historically the Precept has been very low.  As a result the Parish Charge will rise by 12%, which is a rise of £3-54p for the year, for a typical Band D property.  This year the Parish Council has made Grants to the School and to the Rec. Committee, to complete the refurbishment of the Pavilion.  It has also assumed responsibility for the East Lane Car Park.  All these actions have been to increase the attractiveness and viability of the Village and we expect to have to do more things for ourselves, hence the Precept increase.
